Need help with my gauges on 86

My gauges on my 86 silverado work great untill I turn the head lights on. The gas gauge goes to empty,alt and oil gauge go all the way to the left.When i turn the lights off they go back to normal.Help me!!

sounds like you have a short in your headlight switch. The only thing I know to do is start tracing wires and unhooking from the furthest out all the way back to the switch until it stops shorting then look between disconnected wires. In my experience you will want to look in the hardest to get to place, somewere you need 3 elbows 2 wrists and 4 hands all on 1 arm to get to it.
