Disc Brake Conversion Question

I have a 63 C 10, and i would like to convert the brakes from drums to discs front and rear. I would like to keep the 6 lug pattern and use the new 2 1/2" drop spindles in the front and use the steelie wheels i already have. Additionally i want to mount the master cylinder on the frame under the cab.

Is anybody aware of any companies that supply the complete kit. And has anybody done this who could provide any problems or tips

Thanks

Got my complete kit for a '62 with 6-bolt from http://www.tuckersparts.com, I believe they also carrier them for '63-66.

Re: Disc Brake Conversion Question

I'm planning on developing a 6 lug rear bracket set in the near future, when I'm done with my current new bracket set. If your wheels are the original style, I don't believe they'll work with disc brakes.

Re: Disc Brake Conversion Question

No, I'm having some Large I.D. 15" Rallys Made (been 4 weeks now) and should be delivered today. They're supposed to have a larger inside diameter to clear the calipers, (look like 16" rim) but you can mount 15" tire on them. Will find out today I guess

Re: Disc Brake Conversion Question

Yeah stocks won't fit however the stock wheels can be made to fit at a specialty wheel shop a guy here does them. Stocktonwheel.com maybe research a place in your area. I think they split the wheel use a rear disc wheel and weld the original face to it, thus keeping the stock wheel look.
