eastwood mig 175 welder

just saw that advertized in junes issue of classic trucks. i need a welder for my garage and that deal with cart and helmet seems pretty well priced. just wondering if anyone had any positive or negative comments about them?

Seems like a pretty good deal especially with a spool gun, and I am a Miller snob. Just a little advice: ask them about the consumables (liner, contact tips, etc.). If they don't match up with something that's easy to get at your local welding supply store, then make sure to get some spares when you order the welder. You will only need a new contact tip when you don't have one.

It looks just like my Lincoln Easymig 175. Except mine didn't come with a fancy hand reel. Mine was also cheaper. Although the specifications are pretty much the same.

i'd much rather buy with the original manufacturers name rather than a rebranded model at a premium price from eastwood// eastwood manufacturers nothing they are just like jcwhitney just prints catalogues

I believe that the EasyMIG has a "Tapped" control. Click detents. The Eastwood says it is infinitely adjustable control which leads me to believe it is continuous control like the Power MIG 175. Those are a bit more costly than the tapped version. At least according to the email I received from Lincoln.

The Eastwood package is what is attractive. The cart and auto darkening helmet is about $110 separately, not to mention the spool gun.
