Heads up racing

My local track over the last couple of years has put together a couple heads up streetcar events... Typical stuff like 20 mile cruise, windows roll up and down, all glass , mufflers and insured.
The tire rule is killing me though. the rule reads • No Back halved, Tubbed or Mini Tubbed vehicle allowed So if you can fit it within your stock fender wells and it has a D.O.T. stamp on it your good...... even if i run a tire that fits into the stock fender well im tubbed so my truck is put into the outlaw class.....SOOOO Im thinking of putting the tubs back stock... The rule dosent say anything about the rearend being narrowed. get some wheels with the right offset and go racing.... Now to my question. what is the biggest tire we can fit in the stock fender well. the key word is "in" Im not putting a straight axle in the front.. LOL

I had a 29.5 12.5 sportsman pro on a ten inch wheel.

So Far my best Times are:

Motor only:
6.44 1/8 @ 104.13
10.39 1/4 @ 125.83

Nitrous Times:
5.785 1/8 @ 118.65 with a 1.336 60ft
9.168 1/4 @ 142.58 with a 250 shot dead out of the hole!

At one point, I had a set of Hoosier quick times in a p325/50r15 on a 10" wheel in the stock tubs on mine.

I'm runnin a 28x11.5 et drag on 15x10 wheel, 4" b/s. Chris.

Could you get away with running the stock tubs slightly widened with a few inches from another stock tub. Or do you think they'd notice an extra 2 inches on there? There's a guy on the squarebody site (HaulinIt), that has some completely stock looking tubs that are 1 or 2 inches wider and it looks stealthy. I'm not saying to cheat, but loosely interpret the rules in your favor.

I kno wthis is off topic , but i have been wanting a class like this down here except the traction compound has to be over 200 wear rating . And no progressive or traction controls . You know just straight up street cars on straight street tires . Thought it would make for a fun class .

Yeah here they just want a dot stamp...... And the tub rule dosnt eliminate any of the newer rides that come factory with the wide meats... If they put a tire size rule in then the vipers and vetts start complaining. cant please everyone.. The first race is tomorrow http://www.truestreetshootout.com/

Yea , i didn't think about that . Just the DOT stamp can be a very sticky tire . The tread wear of say 200 or 400 as a limiter would be the equallizer . This would be run on street xcar night so as not to tear up the track for a bracket / index event .
