Question tie rod problems

I have a 72 2wd blazer,i was going to change the tie rods and i noticed where the spindle and tie meet is real sloppy,come to find out that the hole in the spindle is bigger the the shaft of the tie rod i already went to part store took back the new one tried to figure out whats going on...the only thing i figure out spindle is wrong,By the way po put 2 inch lowered spindles on it..Any help would be great,

It may have 73-87 spindles on it.
You might purchase a new 73-87 outer tie rod and see if it fits the spindle.
I would also check and see if the spindle is ruined from the sloppy fit.
