GMC vs Chevy Emblems
I have noticed many Chevy's with the "8-350", "8-400", etc. next to the front marker lights but I never see these on GMC's.
Would it be inappropriate to put the "8-454" on my '72?

Are you going for a custom look?. If so, by all means let people know what's under that hood. Especially if it's a BIG block!!!!

Nothing is inappropriate as it's your truck. If you are asking if GMC's came with CID badges, the answer from my observations is no.

Unless.....
If you are running a 250 6-cyl., and you want to put 454 emblems on it, well, it's still your truck.
I remember a buncha folks who wanted to "impress" people by putting different "badges" on their 60's era cars, i.e., 327 flags on a 283; 390 emblems on a 289; or even the other way...as in, 283 emblems on a Nova, that was already running an L-79 350. Go figure....
