Parking Brake light stays on

I have my parking brake properly adjusted, but the pedal does not return all the way to the rubber stop and the pedal assembly (about 1/2" short). This causes the pedal arm not to contact the copper tab on the parking light switch, so I have to lift the pedal with the toe of my left shoe to get it to contact the light switch.
Is there any way to cause the pedal to return to the full up position? I don't see any springs visible on the pedal assembly, but there must be one somewhere. I am thinking of bending the copper tab on the switch up to make contact with the low pedal arm.

Re: Parking Brake light stays on

OK - I now see two options:
1) Bend up the copper tab on the bottom of the parking brake switch and hope it makes it to the brake pedal arm to shut off the light or
2) Try to remove and shorten/replace the small spring at the top of the lever which must add tension to the pedal

Or, I suppose I could replace the whole assembly, which sounds like major overkill for this pesky little problem.

I found some closeup pics of the assembly on ebay for reference:

Re: Parking Brake light stays on

Bubba fixed - I drilled a small hole in the end of the parking brake pedal arm, rang an old throttle return spring from that hole to a hole in the sheet metal on the lower dash frame. Seems to work OK.
