Interesting that my C20 396 is an L66 396 (2 bbl carb) and the C10 is an L47 396.
Most sources I have found show the L66 as a one year only, 1969 396 with 265 hp. Not sure why mine is in a 1968.

northerngmc, 2 bbl, 396 BB was a option in 1968
I have the little book that was used at the Dealership when you went in to special order a new car or truck. It shows that in 1968 a 2 bbl, 396 BB option code L66 cost $139.90. |

Here's my grandpa's C20, exterior is very faded but the interior is still very golden.

Here is my daughter's 68 "gold truck" she is three and has claimed it since we got it last fall. She gets very excited when we get "stuff" for her gold truck and pushes to put it on.
