Engine ID question
Okay so I just bought another truck. Supposedly a 69 model dually. But it has a 67 front end and c20 badges on the fenders. It has either a 283 or 327 in it, I don't know which. I can't find any info from the #'s. The only one I have is the one in front of the passenger side head. It's F0323GF. Can anyone help me?

Re: Engine ID question
You will probably need the casting number and the date code on the back of the block. You have a 1/3 chance it is a rare block.
1955 GF block is a 265 3sd w ac 1957 GF block is a 283 Fuel Injection motor for car 1965 GF block is a 283 powerglide http://www.nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-cod...s-suffix-5.php Start here and hope it is the FI 283 date code..... |
