should i turbo a 350 or just go with the 6.0???

what would be the better way to go? turbo charge my 85 350 motor or just keep trying to save for the 6.0? im putting it in an 85 chevy crew cab 4x4 that will just be a family truck. i would like to get better gas mi. and better power than the stock 85 350. which one would be the best?

heres a pic of what it will look like done. i put prerunner fiberglass on it to see what it would look like but i think i'll keep them for some other project

Save for the 6.0! It's certainly going to get better mileage than a turbo-charged 350, and will make considerably more torque where a truck needs it. Don't get me wrong, I love a turbo-charger, but they aren't the most efficient thing on a gas burner... It takes RPM to get them to make good power, and how fuel efficient is RPM .

The 6.0l motors are awesome! I have plans to put one in my '76 Blazer, and then possibly into my '88 Burb (my family truckster) too.

BTW...truck looks killer! But don't do the pre-runner fenders... just my .02

i agree with everyone else! plus, you might spend just as much trying to turbo it, and alot more headaches then if you go with a 6.0!

(turbo charge the 6.0 later on )

Re: should i turbo a 350 or just go with the 6.0???

i'll have right about 3k in my 5.3. just a straight swap, but with new gas tank, shocks and steering, etc. included. shouldn't be much more for a 6.0 alot easier than tuning for a turbo. and alot more mpg's. plus for a "family" rig, reliability is much better with the 6.0
