Did I buy the wrong springs?
I am working on the front suspension of my 65 C10 short fleet, the previous owner had modified the front for air bags and disc brakes but I'm returning it to springs. The crossmember is a 63-70 the upper control arms are 63-72 and the lower control arms are 73+. I ordered front coil springs for a 73 c10 1/2 ton but they look too long. I put the first one in and it just doesn't look right. The springs are 13.5 inches long

Re: Did I buy the wrong springs?
Could the problem be the fact that the lower control arm was modified for airbags?

Re: Did I buy the wrong springs?
It doesn't look too bad in the pic, but it is hard to tell in a pic sometimes. Not knowing if the PO modified the spring pocket, plus the fact that the bumpstop and the steering stop are removed, I would suggest finding another set of LCA's.
I see that you are also missing the rubber bumper on the upper control arm as well. That will let the lower drop a little more than it's supposed to. Once you get all the sheetmetal back on, tires and wheels and the truck back on the ground it will compress the spring some more. Also once you drive them a little a new set of springs will settle some.

Are they stock height springs?

Re: Did I buy the wrong springs?
That's normal for new stock height springs. Once you drive the truck a few hundred miles they will settle a bit more. Since you're running tall springs there's not too much worry with the lower snubbers missing off your arms.
