Oh no. My newest purchase..
Well, I sold the 61 panel a few weeks ago, and then bought a 65 C10. Its kinda beat-up, but has a good 327 in it.
Im not sure but it seems to be a well optioned truck. It has AC, factory tint glass, custom trim, its also a og automatic. I was going to just sell it, but now Im talking myself into doing something with it. Im not a big fan of longbeds, well..actually, this is the first one Ive ever owned... But, maybe if I get off my butt, I can give it a makeover.. Anyway, heres the newest "Flavor of the week"...haha

a clean "UNMOLESTED" long bed!!! go get a copy of "CLASSIC-TRUCKS" and take a look at just what can be done with these trucks you could want to just hang on to it...most of us didn't start out that well good luck...

I know you have the skills to make it a short. Long beds are gross.

Re: Oh no. My newest purchase..
The process of making a lwb into a swb is way oversimplified...the frame shortening, not so much, but getting a fleetside bed panel shortened and back together where is looks decent, is quite a chore. I wish I had every good, lwb fleetside bed that had been ruined by someone attempting to do this task.
Keep it a long, tighten it up and enjoy it. Nice score and I am glad you are back in the fold with a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC truck. Thanks for sharing. |

Re: Oh no. My newest purchase..
Haha.
You guys wanting me to go to the effort to shorten it...dont know me well enough. I wont have it long enough for the welds to cool.... If you go back through posts, I have a different vehicle monthly, sometimes weekly...lol Hence the "flavor of the week"... I dont know what im going to do. I have a set of lowering coils I could throw on it, but not sure. Is a AC, sbc, automatic with custom trim a pretty high option truck? It even has a weird chrome rearview mirror with notches to latch the sun visors.. Is that a factory option? And it had a pair of original Cal Custom 9 fin valve covers with offy breathers!! and they are perfect... which I promptly took off incase I decide to sell it. Im keeping them covers..

Re: Oh no. My newest purchase..
You know the Columbus GG show is a little over 1 month away, that gives you plenty of time to get it looking right! With your skills your can make that long bed cool, I'd keep it. That color is cool too, kinda rare maybe? Nice piece.

Re: Oh no. My newest purchase..
Given the rate at which long beds sell, this means that we have an awful lot of gross truck buyers out there. That's what I love about this board.

Re: Oh no. My newest purchase..
Its not that longbeds are gross, to me. I just know, apples to apples, if this truck was equal in every way, but a shortbed, it would sell 10X faster.
And lets be honest. Theres several guys from Ohio and PA on here that know me. I go through cars and trucks fast. Or know me from my 7+ years on the HAMB. Im not a dealer, I just get bored easy and its fun for me to change constantly. Sometimes I even sell at break-even, so its not that Im out to make a killing on each one. Thats why, 10 years ago, I put "Grumpys Used Cars and Speed Shop" on my 54 Chevy truck. That was before there were 10,000 trucks with shop names on them. Its just for fun. I enjoy the challange. Thats also why I used to have a signature on HAMB that read: Ive had LOTS of cars, and I want LOTS more, even if its only for a month All in fun...
