Trans Issues
Ok, So I just finished the motor on my truck. I take it out for a test drive with the newly rebuilt Turbo 400 with stage 2 shift kit, and a high performance torque converter with a . I bypassed the radiator and went straight to a oil cooler for the trans and I have the vacuum line hooked up to the carb. Now when I took it out, it didn't seem to have the kick I expected. It doesn't shift hard and feels like motor is giving the trans more than enough power, but no output from the trans. The only thing I can think of it that my stall is too hight on the TC or something with the trans cooler. Any ideas?

Re: Trans Issues
I'm guessing that you have put the vaccum line back on the modulator since the picture was taken.

Re: Trans Issues
i'm not sure whats the differnce you are feeling . did you have a 400 before ? as a 400 has a higher first gear and takes more power to operate than a 350 turbo . on a side note i would put some sort of grommets around those lines where the pass thru sheetmetal

Re: Trans Issues
When I had my T400 rebuilt the guys forgot to put the "plunger" (not sure of the real name) in before putting the vacuum modulator in. The tranny worked but shifted really soft. I drove the truck 160 miles home and the next day found the problem (the missing plunger). Got a new one, pulled the modulator out, stuck the missing plunger in the hole, reinstalled the modulator and it was shifting like the beast it should. Hopefully its an easy fix like mine was.

Re: Trans Issues
turns out the stall was set WAY to high. I don't know what the guy was thinking when he was putting it together. So a new one covered under warranty is on its way.
