panel or sub barn door supports

Does any body out there have any ideas on how to make the door props on the rear doors functional again. mine are in reason able shape but I can not get the stops to work right. I have tried to clean them up and they seem to slide well and the catch moves freely but it will not engage like it is supposed to. How about modern gas prop rods has anyone tried these? I know this is a PU site but it also has a knowage base unmatched on the internet as I can find so I thought I would start here.

Are you refering to barn doors or clamshell style?

Barn doors, they are supposed to keep the doors from opening to far and hold the from closing till released

Yes. They stop half way then you have to close them a little then open them all the way

I have never seen both side by side at the same time, but the pieces looked the same to me on both trucks, barn, and clam....
