Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
When setting up the air bags to weld the mounts etc. Do I want the bag completely compressed or just half way or? I am talking about the rear.
In other words would I want the bags to have medium air at about ride height or would my ride height bag be completely filled for a better ride. Is there a preference? |

Set it up at ride height.

Set them so there about half to 3/4 filled at ride height. You need to know the total stroke of the bag. If your running fully inflated it will be a rough ride.

Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
as long as the bag isnt riding against itself when your driving you'll be good. So whatever it takes to keep the folds of the bag from rubbing eachother is where you'll want ride height to be...

I always set it up so that the bag is fully compressed when the vehicle is at it's lowest point. That way you get the maximum travel available from the bag.

Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
With my f9000 bags from ART they have specs. for them.
You should try to find the installed height of your bags which is also the ride height and work from there. mine was 9"-9.5". THey usually have a max height and min. as well.

However, it depends on where you want your truck to be at ride height. 4DSEVEN, what bags are you planning to use? In place of the coils? or where? |

I have Dominator 2500 & 2600 bags. I am currently setting up the triangulated 4 link but figuring the bags will be over the axle.

Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
This is also what I do when setting up bags. I set them fully compressed so that I can make sure I get full travel when inflated. Keep in mind, that I do this when the truck is laying frame. If you set the bag mounts with the bag partially inflated, unless you do all the math on the bag and the height of your frame, when deflated, the bag could keep you from laying out.

Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
your bags are 2.8" deflated with a 8" extended so do your mathe and check your travel but the key is going to be your ride height ..you dont want the bags running to high or low

It was mentioned to try not having the bag overlap each other when at ride height. Is that the consensus? Say about 2/3 at ride height? I have purchased the Autopilot controller and hope to have pretty much a ride height setting, in the weeds and up higher for speed bumps and driveways. Am I going in the right direction? Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
I have never heard of anything regarding this. I don't think it would be an issue.

Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
I dont think the rubbing is an issue I would move the bags to the front of the AXle to gain the most leverage and most lift/drop but it might be tough with a tri 4 link

Re: Do I set up bags at lowest compression first?
Got the rear bags set up and they came out perfect. The truck sits on the ground in the rear so far. Waiting for my drop spindles to arrive and work will begin on the front.
