Getting her inspected in Monday!

She's finally going to be back on the road! Still have to finish the tailgate and rear trim, but besides that she's all done.

Nice job. Im curious about the inspection. How often does this have to be done? Is it something that has to get done when a vehicle has been off the road for awhile?

Thanks!

In pa we have to get all our vehicles inspected once a year. There is a physical inspection, which is like brakes, lights and everything safety related. A couple years ago they added the emissions inspection for vehicles from 1995(I think) and newer. They make sure all the emissions equipment is there and also test how much emissions is coming from the tailpipe. It can be a real pain for modified vehicles.

Re: Getting her inspected in Monday!

PA inspection really wasnt a bad thing till they decided to take after communistfornia and add emmissions to it... went from 16$ a year to 50-70$ from what im told.....
(ex rainsylvania resident myself- NEVER AGAIN)

its actually a good thing when it comes to the actual inspection of the vehicle.. tires, brakes are checked, glass has to be good, all suspension is checked, all lights checked, the overall condition of the vehicle top to bottom is checked...

IMHO its a good thing cause then i know that you as a fellow driver have the same safe car that i have and your tires aint gonna blow out, your brakes work, your lights/wipers etc all work...

they have no inspection here in AZ. and ive seen some really scary stuff on the roads ... but the huge PRO to AZ. is that anything can be put on the roads and its all legal... RHINOS, ATV, DIRTBIKES, SAND RAILS, MONSTER TRUCKS (48" tires) etc. can all be legal here with minor requirments.....

splehigh,
if you register the truck as an antique (or historic) you won't need to get it inspected. Also, you'll only need a 1 time license renewal of $75. If you are using it as a daily driver, then you'll need regular tags.

That is true but they are pretty picky. You have to send in side, front and back pictures to Harrisburg. I tried to get antique tags for a 64 C10 a little over 5 years ago. They rejected it because it didn't have "stock" wheels. Like they even know what stock wheels look like.
