Re: 5.3 vortec in an older truck?hows it done?

There is about 15 of these going on right now. Just have to search it. Are you going EFI or carbed? List is about same both ways. I am putting a LQ4 6.0 with a carb in my 4x4 burb. I needed:Fuel system, intake manifold, motor mount adapters, new flex plate/flywheel, the factory manifolds do not fit all that well. You will also need ecm reprogram if you keep efi or a msd controll box for carb. Lots of different ways to get them in. Many different combos you can use.

Re: 5.3 vortec in an older truck?hows it done?

check out my truck been on the road about a year there are other videos to the start of the engine on you tube too

i would run the injection setup on the truck mine gets about 20 mpg you would want to run a 4l60e trans too so you dont have to deal with the vss or kick down setup for the t350 biggest issue is the headers !! other than that its the fuel pump , engine mount adaptors , harness etc etc its pretty easy

Search LS swap, there about 10 currently under construction with LOTS of good pictures and instructions. Good luck.
