Edelbrock 1406 question
I took apart my carb yesterday to clean it up due to rust from the tank getting in it and seemed to have lost the pump arm screw that fastens the pump arm on the right side. Anyone know of a replacement or easy fix?

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question
The pump arm is held on by a small clip, just like the one on the choke arm, should be able to find at a auto or hardware store

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question
I agree, I had a dirty tank and it caused so many problems, stuff will still get by any filter and cause nothing but problems, take it out and have it cleaned or just buy a new one, its way worth it. Also edelbrocks website has a good video on taking that carb apart, its worth a look

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question
Thanks for the info guys. I have the seat out and tank unbolted, going to get some muriatic acid and POR 15 and tackle that project tomorrow. I also have a clear inline fuel filter that I plan to install and hopefully will help me monitor this to ensure that the cleanout of the tank helped. I'll make a run to advance tomorrow and see if they have what I am missing.

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question
I'm being told I need more than the clips, screw is shouldered. Of course once again I have to order it, and wait for a special delivery. Link is below if anyone else has any ideas.

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question
Just a suggestion but while your at it and if its all original, I would go ahead and replace the the filler neck gromit, the small peice of rubber line that conects the hard line coming from cab to hard line along the frame rail and the fuel sending unit ( just make sure you get the correct size i think 3/8 or 5/16). These things a real easy to do and fairly cheap, all that and a new filter and you should have a nice clean systm

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question
Rebuild kit doesn't include that screw, but I found out edelbrock carries a linkage kit that does, drove about an hour today and picked it up and got carb back together and put back on. Also got a tank sealer kit from KBS, wow is that thing RUSTY. I just hope it seals well enough. I cleaned the hell out of the tank and am going to do the rust treatment part, re-wash it out, and then let it dry and hopefully have the sealer step done by sundown tomorrow.
