here's the option #'s, now what did it look like originally?

i want to find out what the original paint scheme was on my 71 k-10. I'm not sure whether it had the upper and lower side mouldings/with the stripe in the center, or whether it had just had the lower moulding with the stipe on the bottom of the truck?? here's the option #'s i got of the build sheet on the glove box door:

592 WHITE/ DARK BLUE /WHITE
BX2 BODY SIDE MOULDING WIDE
D89 PAINT STRIPE
D99 TWO-TONE PAINT MOULDING

can anyone tell exactly what it looked like from the factory?? It's a canadian truck by the way, though I don't think that should make a difference.
Thanks
Jason

P.S. I know the roof was origianlly white. When i removed the rubber seal from the back window, it still had the original white paint under it....still shiny, too! haha

I probably don't know anything you don't know, but those codes pretty much sound like there was a white bottom stripe, a blue middle stripe, and the roob/top of cab, was white again. All this was seperated by the trim, top and bottom.

probably doesn't help, but maybe

I thought it might've been that way too....BUT the interior was blue and the firewall (engine comp) was blue also.....so it would seem that it must've been mostly blue with a white stripe. The problem is, it don't know whether the stripe was on the bottom or in the center??? or WHICH style of mouldings it had??

does anyone know of a website where i could find this out?

"belt moulding" would be the thin top trim, so im guessing your truck was mostly blue with a white cab top and a white strip on the bottem

i'm left in teh dark here too i guess, it seems liek with the blue surrounded by two whites in the option list it would be the same on the truck...?? This is how my truck is, ochre in the middle, with white on the top of the cab and below the bottom trim. The interior and the engine compartment is ochre too.

hmmm

do you have any pics of your truck, cheyenne??? so your's was mostly white, but the interior was the same colour as the stripe? hmmmm, is your's original?? I guess in the end you pretty much have to do what ever you prefer it seems like?. I was kind of hoping mine had the "belt" trim, cuz I really like the way it looks, and it would be a bonus if that's the way it was originally.
Anybody else have any thoughts?

Yes, usually the interior and engine compartment were the same color as the center stripe, At least all of them that I have seen that were original, Meaning unrestored with the original factory paint. Also Yours should have the Narrow upper Molding, And the Wide Lower molding. Hope this helps! Also more than likely the molding had the black stripe instead of the woodgrain style.

you know what?? now that i think about it, when i had the front fenders off you could still see the original paint on the backside of the "pocket" and where other paint jobs had just been masked off. Anyway, the bottom portion was.....WHITE!!!! So I are we all in agreement now, that it all white with a blue stripe???
I guess i'll find out when I strip the fenders down because I know they are the original ones..........wish me luck !
