71 C10 Front Cross member????
I just had the frame and some parts powder coated. I put the front cross member back on, does it need to be aligned a special way? And does anyone have a idea of the torque on the bolts? I would post pics but I'm new at this.

On mine I snugged up the bottom rail first,then the sides,then tighten the bottom,then tighten the sides.I don't think there are any alignment "specs", it is where it is.
I too have inquired about torque specs and "good'n tight " seems to be the answer. Good lookin' frame btw T

The only other thing I can think to add: Since there's a little play in everything to allow assembly, pick a similar spot on opposite sides of the c.member & try to make sure they're square w/the frame (as much as possible) when measured diagonally.

For the Suspension Crossmemeber the c10 for a 69 chevy(im assuming its all the same) is 65 pounds for the c20 and c30 its 100 pounds. I would recomend getting the "chevrolet truck chassis service manual" for your truck they are well worth it and have the specs for everything(including the motors and everything you can think of)youll need and also tells you how to do almost anything that will need to be done on your truck and all the specs of the motors. I bought one and was one of the best investments ive made.
