WIW: 78 Chevy 250 Power Steering Setup

Is the 250 Power Steering Setup from a 78 as rare and desireable as the 67-72 one is? Is it worth grabbing? What do they go for? Thanks.

Anyone know if these differ from the 67-72 also?

Hi JimmyFloyd,

GM changed to an "integral head" on the inline sixes sometime around 1975. They have the intake manifold cast as part of the head (not a separate bolt-on manifold like earlier years).

I think the power steering brackets might be different as a result. I have a couple PS setups off 75-79 Novas with 250 engines that look very similar to the one in your pics. I've been meaning to test fit one on a non-integral head inline-six to see if they'll even come close to fitting but haven't gotten around to it yet.

By the way, I believe that air cleaner pictured in your first post is specific to inline-six trucks with power brakes and might be of interest to some folks. The regular air cleaner won't clear a brake booster.
