Any Barn Find Stories?

I don't know if any of you guys have read either "Cobra in the Barn" or "Hemi in the Barn" by Tom Kotter (excellent barn find short stories if you haven't), but lately I've been thinking it would be cool to hear any of your barn find stories. Maybe cars (or trucks) you rescued from a barn, or cars you know are still hiding there, whatever.

I've got two, neither of which I own (yet ) :

1. I live on a farm, so naturally that means a lot of tractor work making hay, etc. Well, one side of my farm butts up to a '70s era development, and ever since I was 14 I've worked along the backyards of those neighbors. There's a pretty thick treeline separating us, but I can still get a glimpse of the treasures hiding back there. I always used to admire a beat up old primer-black car that I could just see the roof poking out above old car parts and landscaping equipment, but I never knew what it was. Turns out, I've got what I think is a big-block 71-2 Challenger within 100 yds of my farm, that's nearly invisible from the road. Haven't gotten the courage to ask the guy about it, though.

2. This is new, but as I was driving to my cousin's farm several weeks ago, I caught a glimpse of an orange and white 67-72 GMC hiding in a beat-up old shed just off the road, one I've never seen before. I only got a couple second's worth of a look at it, but it appears that the orange and white are reversed from the factory two-tone. I might try to see if I can find out some more about it.

Re: Any Barn Find Stories?

How about this old wreck!!!
hb32 found it on craigslist in Medford Oregon.
In a shed for 22 years. One owner. All the reggies from new. Protecto plate in the glovebox. 2 build sheets. 1 under the seat (removed) and stored and 1 still in the seat back. No rust too. Was repainted sometime in the past. Now 69000 miles on it.
230 six 3ott. 2 speed wipers. front swaybar. economy heater. heavy duty coils only options. Paint chipped up.

On a trip to Victoria BC to pick up a tonneau for my other truck I discovered a dozen old mopars (cuda's challengers chargers)
stored in the underground parking garage of an apartment building. They aren't all found in barns. Some are right under our noses in the city too!!!
