Help, having problems with dmv

I just bought back a 70 jimmy from my dad in arizona and now the california dmv wont title the vehicle without the us federal certification label. it is so foolish because i bought the jimmy six years ago and their were no issues. Does anyone know where this is located? I looked on the dash by the windshield but nothing is there. I really dont want to go through the chp to get a title, please help!

The DMV never asked me for that when i brought my Jimmy from Utah. They just "inspected" it. It took forever to get the pink slip mailed to me though.

I found out what it is, it is a blue rectangular sticker that goes on the drivers door. It has the vin number and date of manufacture. Of course mine is long gone when the previous owner painted the Jimmy.

They are looking for the second vin number. You can use the partial vin on the frame or maybe they will take the vin off the glovebox sticker if that is still there. I used a vin Verifier when I did a truck, saved em from hauling the truck to DMV.

Thanks extd56, I don't think she checked the glove box door sticker and it is still there! I will go back on Monday and have them check. I would think they would accept the glove box sticker if they would accept the federal sticker on the door.

Clean off the area by the steering box so that you can show here the numbers on the frame.
