Re: what do you think it will run in the 1/4??
First put some more timing it. Get it up near 36 total. You likely have more rpm left in it too. You should be making power to at least 5500rpm with that combo. I would guess and say maybe a 13.8 its almost impossible to guess at a 1/4 mile time though without a dyno sheet.Do you have a stall converter?

NO POSI? First get a posi and 13's should be easy. Practice helps too.

Re: what do you think it will run in the 1/4??
Peg leg and 700 will probably make a smoke show stripe through first so you will probably have to baby it out of the hole. My 65 swb with a 361 sbc hates traction on almost anything with stock suspension. I have 3.73 gear,26" tire 25-2800 stall convertor.

Re: what do you think it will run in the 1/4??
on cement (not blacktop) with warm tires the truck will hook hard enough to flex the front left suspension all the way up and send everthing that was on my dash to the floor. I think it's hooking because I have a stock stall converter though. (1000rpm stall with my foot on the brake. )
desktop dyno says my truck makes peak HP at 5000, so that's where I've been shifting it next I plan on getting it dyno-tuned, then stall, then posi

Re: what do you think it will run in the 1/4??
I personally think DeskTop Dyno is somewhat generous on HP and Torque estimates, but the actual number doesn't mean much,, it's just a number. Instead of shifting at the HP peak, I'd try shifting to put the AFTER THE SHIFT rpm in the meat of the torque curve.
Bowlin and Gripos site has a 'optimium shift calculator' to play with. Don't be surprised if it wants a shift rpm well above what your willing to spin that cam. http://www.bgsoflex.com/auto.html
