temporary hardtop storage
I was going to borrow my neighbor's utility trailer to get the top from under my lift..... need the lift to work on the Jimmy. If I used his trailer I'd have to put the top somewhere by myself to return the trailer. I had an idea and did some measuring. My little pop-up camper BARELY squeezed between the posts on my lift, and there was 1/2" clearance between the top and the trailer. I put a strip of 1/2" plywood under edges of the the top to protect the trailer. I pretty much use the pop-up once a year for Daytona in Feb., my boys borrow it sometimes-- they can lift it off and put it on sawhorses. Gives me some time to figure out how to hang it from the overhead.
While I was backing and lifting I let the Jimmy idle for an hr. or so and when I got it up on the lift it was peeing a stream of coolant up near the front. I was too hot n sweaty to mess with it. It has one of those cheesy chrome water outlets on the intake that looked pretty cruddy, hope it's leaking rather than the water pump or radiator.
