A Texas Howdy
hello all!
im a local texas classic chevy lover in the houston area. im 22 and personaly bought with my own money (not moms or dads) my first classic chevy. I middle school and highschool me and my dad restored a 68 chevy c10 campers special (and its baby blue ), 350 with a powerglide, and he still owns and drives it to this day. i drove a 75 in highschool and restored a 78 k5 in highschool. last night i went and picked up a 71 K5 with a soft topper and man it was a joy and balst to drive home. im thrilled and pumped to be back in the chevy club and even better the best body panels chevy ever made. i plan on puttin the 67-68 grill on my k5 to mach my dads for the car shows. Today will be a day full of stripping and pressure washing the new toy and then off to hours of sanding. Im a big diesel guy and i plan to put a little 4cylinder cummins diesel in the truck 3.9 liters. I want to gear the truck up to be running 70-75mph and only turning 1800rpms. this should put me in the low 30s for mpg with that little diesel. its gonna be a lotta work and great adventure. Im going to do my best to keep yall updated with pictures and updates on the whole build. i realy with we had the internet when we restored my dads 68, its fun to share and hear other comments and ideas. If yall know of any cool tricks and additions to do to these first gen blazers just shoot me an email. Hope to hear from yall and be posting pictures soon. |
