Gas Tank Troubles
PO relocated the gas tank to under the bed behind the rearend. Its already been patched a couple times using putty and once again its leaking in the areas that have been patched. Not sure what the tank came out of originally but hopeing someone here knows what tank will fit or a good way to patch this one.

Re: Gas Tank Troubles
empty tank then clean to shiney metal , i've used "marine tech" epoxy from a boat supply store have had repairs hold up many years, the key is cleaning the metal to get epoxy to stick

Re: Gas Tank Troubles
@68GMCCustom-I figured this would be the most obvious solution, but Ive yet to find any locally and certainly couldnt drove the $$$ on a new one at the moment.
@cdowns- Any more info on the "marine tech" you speak of?Any chance it was "Marine Tex?" http://www.marinetex.com/marinetexepoxyputty.html

Re: Gas Tank Troubles
aircraft fuel tank sealer is the way to go. if you are near an airport go to the parts dept and get prc 1422 or 1428 b2. sand the area mix and apply. it will not come off or leak.

Re: Gas Tank Troubles
sounds like overkill but at the same time i cant imagine that it wouldnt work. unfortunately im the only airports are about 40ish miles away and so small i doubt they have a parts dept
