1975 C10 Master Cylinder Problem
Chevy had some screwups and the old leaky cast iron master cylinder is one of them. Im tired of brake fluid dripping all over my nicely painted parts and turning my truck into a rust bucket. Can i use the 81 and up cylinder? Does it help? Is the lower part aluminum instead of iron? Any help would be greatly honored. Thank you.

Re: 1975 C10 Master Cylinder Problem
CPP has many styles of master cylinders that will work. If yours was leaking, it had a problem. One of the production line test required by the DOT is to pressurize the masteylinder and lid assembly. If it leaks it is no good. other mastercylinders can be used. Make sure you have enough fluid volume in the reservoir to compensate for brake pad wear. Disc rewuire more fluid than drums. Also use the correct size bore and match the depth the push rod engages the master cylinder.

Re: 1975 C10 Master Cylinder Problem
I had a new master cylinder. I bench bled it and installed it. It worked fine but the lid leaked and peeled the new paint off my vacuum diaphram which is now rusting. The other day i went to check the resevoir and the smaller one was empty. I would prefer an aluminum master cylinder with a see through resevoir and screw on caps. Any suggestions?
