S10 Swap: Brake Booster Location?

I've read most of the S10 swap threads and the running theme seems to be to mount the brake boost/master to the firewall. Has anyone put the whole lot back onto the S10 frame and used the original pedal?

I'm not even sure if it's possible given the differences in the frames. I really don't like the idea of putting that big thing up on the firewall if I don't have to.

Thanks,
Ben in SC

Re: S10 Swap: Brake Booster Location?

It doesn't bother me to have it under the hood. It was easy to do, came with the S10 I had, and made the pedals easier to deal with. There isn't much room under the cab for exhaust AND a booster when running a V8 in the S10 frame.

Plus it's like driving an Aztek. It may be ugly, but only if your looking at it. Once inside, you don't notice it.

Maybe you could use a booster from an Astro/Safari, they're smaller in diameter than the S10!
