Re: i need parts list for brake swap
You can get everything you need from a 73-87 truck (up to 91 on Burbs). Swap the complete crossmember, or A-arms out.

Re: i need parts list for brake swap
If you keep the crossmember, swap everything from the A-arms out including the tie rods.

Re: i need parts list for brake swap
I'm planning on doing the same thing this weekend. I also have a 66 3/4 ton.
I found a guy locally who is selling parts from a 72 3/4 ton, and I was hoping that the front suspension from that would fit my truck. What if I only replaced the spindles? Will the later spindles fit on the earlier control arms? Do you really have to do the entire front end? Crap, I just got to thinking. I'm guessing the orginal brake master cylinder will not work for disc brakes. Will I also have to upgrade to a power booster and a better master cylinder? Well, back to searching older posts. |

Re: i need parts list for brake swap
The '71-'87 balljoints should fit the '66 control arms. I know the uppers will fit, and I'm about 90% that the lowers will also. Then the spindles, rotors, calipers, etc will bolt up. And yes you will have to upgrade the master cylinder and add a proportioning valve. You can get those from the same '72 parts truck. I offer a booster bracket that bolts onto the firewall using existing holes, or you can use the '72 booster and drill the holes to mount it. I have the steering box adapter plates as well.
