Does anyone have pictures of trucks with stake bed sides installed on C/10's 20's or 30's? I think it would look pretty cool, especially if done right. I ran a search and came up with nada :-(

I'm thinking more about trucks with stake sides on top of stock beds. That one is real nice though, I could have used that the other day when I was moving bales of hay by hand.

I have been looking for a C-30 myself, but so far have not found one. I can find '73 and newer, but none 67-72.

I just have to keep on looking, I guess.

Was hoping there would be some more pics here. I have to say I've often thought about adding them to my truck. I think they look cool for some strange reason.

Not a stock or period correct bed, but I tried to make something that resembled period correct stakes. They were often plain wood or whitewash stain in the late 60's (which is what I used). I imagine most stake beds were installed by up-fitters, so there are big variations.

Those sides can be unlatched and removed by one person (me) in manageable sections. The back gate has a latch on each side made with steel conduit so it can hold some weight.

There is over 100 linear feet of wood on those sides, and all of the bolts are stainless steel. I made a jig that fit over the rail to align it square and mark the diagonal holes to drill.

I was bored one winter............

Wish I would have known you were looking for one. There was a 71 or 72 about half an hour from me. C30 green and looked pretty decent from 40 feet or so away. I will keep an eye out for one local here for you.

Not sure..just snapped the picture

as far as protecting the wood, TWP clear - which when dries looks like NOTHING has been done to it - can be found at a good (ICI Paint) paint store. Or a really good marine varnish. Do NOT use Thompsons or CWF-UV JMHO!
