Dropping the 62 ?

I have searched and believe I know the answer, but since I have been turning wrenches for only about 2 weeks now I feel it's safer to ask. Is all thats required for me to do a 2/4 drop to purchase and install 4" drop springs in the back, 2" drop springs in the front, and realign shocks if nessecary? I will be buying new shocks as well. Thanks in advance.

If you have a 62 you dont have springs in front theyre torsion bars in which case you could just crank em loose to drop it 2 inches. I cranked my torsion bars down and have dropped spindles

See, I told you I am a 37 year old NEWB! So 4" drop coils on the back? Will I need to adjust the shock placment in either location? Thanks for the lesson, and your truck is an inspiration Bowtie.

Thanks no relocation of shocks Ive got 5 in coils at rear and cut a half link would recommend adj. trac bar

Just use caution in how far you drop the front end by unwinding the torsion bars alone. When severely dropped, the adjusting arms on the rear of the bars can hang down far enough to become a road hazard.

Ha ha... Yea, that's why I have a IFS front clip.
I didn't really care for the tortion bars.
Front end was wore out anyway. Cost to much to rebuild it.
Ran up on a Mustang II clip at a Carshow in good condition.
It took a lot of weight of the front end for one thing.
I tell you what.. Those self adjusting brakes were a pain in the butt to adjust.
The right one locked up on me once. Scared the crap out of me. Did a 360 on a back road.
Was facing traffic. I said that's it...She's coming out.....Good that they changed it in '63.
I love the Mustang II IFS.
Got a 2 inch drop on her now.
