Window channel help
Having a problem with the drivers door window, in a 1966 C10. It keeps falling off the track. So I tore it apart, and seems the channel that holds the glass to the window crank mechanism is rusted in two. I cant seem to find it in the LMC catalog. Am I just missing it? Who makes a replacement partr for this? Thanks for any help!!
Larry

Re: Window channel help
if ur talking about the metal c type thing that hold the reg to the window bracket or the bracket its self that holds the window and has two tabs with a screw hole in each, no one makes them, you will have to get some off someone who is parting a truck or just the doors out.

Re: Window channel help
I noticed today in the LMC catalog there is a new part for this but you need to by the window also. It comes assembled. Not sure if that helps or not.

Re: Window channel help
db65, I dont think your talking about the same thing StevieC is talking about.
Just to clarify StevieC, you are wanting the part that is about 10' long, sort of in a "c" shape that slides over the regulator wheels and then has two screws that screw into the window bracket ( the thing that the window slides into on the bottom of the window) or are you talking about the thing the window slide onto that you use the window tape on? You can look on LMC's page 13 of the 60-66 catalog and it shows the piece on the bottom of the glass. but not the other piece. I hope I didnt confuse anyone, but me that is.

when I roll down the driver's side window it just falls down at a backwards angle inside the door and I need to push it back straight and pull up while turning the crank to get it back up I think out of everything that is wrong with my truck, that is the most annoying |

Re: Window channel help
StevieC,
Sounds like one of the rollers on the window regulator is either missing, or just out of the track altogether. As far as the panel goes, get a big screwdriver with vise grips clamped to it and tap the handle end with a hammer while turningout the screw. PITA, but it works.
