Had a few firsts today.......Learned some stuff....
1. I think I found the limit of flex in the stock suspension.
2. I proved the rule of a little bit of water/mud being WAY more than you think. 3. I put water over the hood.....and in the doors.....and the bed..... 4. I found the limits of the departure angle on a long bed without a lift kit. 5. I learned that it may be better to double back through the previously mentioned mud than trying to walk a fullsized truck around the 2-3 foot deep ruts in the escape trail/bypass. 6. Co-Op Grip Spur tires REALLY are as badassed at pulling a truck through some of the worst goo/muck/crap/mud/slime/slop as people have said they are. They should keep making them. 7. Don't EVER try and take this little "farm road" out to the good fishing spot on the reservoir alone, again. |

Re: Had a few firsts today.......Learned some stuff....
then you will want a 10 inch lift and 38.5's and then you will want more floex so you will turn that into 15 inches and then you will want more of everything and put a big block in it with 19inches of lift and 54's... then you will want another truck because that one is no longer practical for almost anything but its perfect to look at

Re: Had a few firsts today.......Learned some stuff....
It turned into more of an "OH S***....." after about a half mile. Including a few moments when I wondered how long I'd have to walk to get back....and how I'd get another truck out to this place to yank mine out. I am wondering what kind of mess this trail is in the wet season. I mean, we haven't had any significant rainfall in 2 months and there was 2 feet of water with another foot of that nasty goo below that in this mud hole....I am glad I didn't wander back there when the truck still had the BFG AT's on it. Maybe on a day with more time I can make my way back in there and get some pics with my phone. |
