difference between 47 & 52 trucks??
I just purchased a '52 pickup but it looks like a 47-49 model. What are the difference between these year models. My truck has the v-butt winshield, louvers on the side cowl and no vent windows. Any advice would be helpful.

There aren't that many differences. 47-48 (some) had the fuel tank under the bed, later was in the cab. 51 introduced the wing vents and was the last year for the turn-down door handles. 52 had push button door handles, 90 mph speedo and the hood emblem didn't have the series numbers, just the word Chevrolet. In 53 the hood emblem went to numbers only. 54 and 55 first series have several changes, the easiest to spot are the parking lights were moved from the grill to the fenders, and the grill went to "fat" bars. Most items will interchange between any of the years.

my '53 has vent windows and so should your '52. '51 was when vent windows were introduced. and '54 was the first year for the one piece windshield. Hope that helps...Go to Chevy Duty .com
and order one of thier free catalogs. It will help in the restoration of your truck.
