61 C-30 Information
Can someone give me information on the chevy 61 C-30? I know it's a 1 ton with dual tires but would it be good for a daily driver? Also, this one I'm looking at doesn't have a bed. Could I put a box bed on it or does it have to be a flat bed? If it's a box bed, wouldn't the outside rear tire stick out?
Does it make a good pulling, hauling vehicle? Any more information would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe |

Re: 61 C-30 Information
IMO an early C30 like that wouldn't make a good DD without a bit of upgrades. One reason being is that the rear end gears are likely 4.57's unless someone has changed the rear end to a later model. Also without much weight on the rear springs, it will probably ride a little rough. Whether you can put a pickup box on it or not depends on the wheelbase of the C30. Even if it is a 127" wheelbase, the outside tire will likely hit the fender opening.
Yes it would make a good hauler/puller, especially with those lower gears.

Re: 61 C-30 Information
go over to g503 and look in other mv, u.s. section in the power wagon or the 1/2 to 2 ton catagory. a couple of weeks ago a boy had a whole wrecker bed off an m37 that would fit perfect on your truck. if i remember right he wanted $750 or something like that, pretty cheap.
