Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
Ive always been in love with these wheels but they obviously wont be a direct bolt on to the truck. Now I know nothing about back spacing and such so I need some help from someone who knows.
The wheels in question have a back space of 7.4 inches. how thick an adapter would it take to get these to fit? I REALLY appreciate any help -Webb |

Re: Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
2 inches even then they may seem too tucked depending on your drop

Re: Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
I ran a set of these on a '66 SWB Fleetside I had many moons ago, and I used a 2.5" adapter on the front and a 3.5" adapter on the rear. The adapters would be very expensive...I worked at a machine shop that had the material and machinery to build them after hours. The materials alone were quite expensive. Just an FYI

just curious nlped: how did the truck ride with the spacers? did you ever have any problems or safety concerns?

Re: Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
im sure youll hear both good and bad about spacers or adapters.
i used to run adapters on my vw to fit other wheels...never a problem. on my 82 truck, po put some adapters to fit 17 in chrome wheels. i never had a problem until i got a flat. sent truck to wifes shop for 2 new tires. and the idiot boss of hers put wheels on. not sure what he did but it was wrong. and the next day....on my way to work, while going over a bridge, the wheel fell off the truck. so i would just say, if your gonna do it, make sure you are careful when mounting. if done right you will have no issues. good luck |

Re: Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
It puts more stress and wear on the wheel bearing and axel bearing

Re: Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
i havnt ran them personally.but they do put a side load on the bearing.like putting big tail wide offset wheels.. its kinda like the same thing with the adapter/spacer

Re: Would c4 corvette wheels fit?
If they were dangerous people wouldn't use them, I think they make those corvette style wheels in 18 or 20 chrome now (aftermarket)
