Dynacorn front fenders? (47-53)

Has anyone used these to replace their stock ones? Both front fenders on the truck I'm building are pretty worked. Just wondering how well these fit.
Thanks in advance.

They are as good as anyone elses. A lot depends on how wacked your cab and frame are after 50 years or if its been hit some time in its life.

Re: Dynacorn front fenders? (47-53)

Thanks.
Is there a common fitment issue with aftermarket front fenders? This truck has been banged around all over. The frame had a crack just behind the pass side front cab mount, but the frame portion of the build is "done" . The cab has a vertical crease on the lower cowl behind the drivers side fender. I think I can get that with a stud gun. The pass side is a bit worse. It has a horizontal crease that bulges out like a sharp body line. I've worked it down to minimal stretch and will attempt to shrink it. I'm at the point where I need to do sheet metal mock up and the stock fenders will take quite a bit of time to straighten. If the aftermarket ones just don"t line up right there is no sense in spending $800.00.

Re: Dynacorn front fenders? (47-53)

From your description you'll have fitment issues with any fender new or used. If you have a vertical crease its most likely from the door over extending and it may have torqued the cab in that area. These trucks were not known for good gaps and alignment of panels. I have two 59's in the shop; one as 1/4" door and fender gaps and the other has 1/2" or better both original untouched trucks. So its not a question of whose panel fits best but how bad is the truck and will any panel work well and what do you have to do to make it fit. I don't know of any inherent front fender issues for new fenders but that doesn't mean they won't make a bad batch every now and then. I've seen it with doors mostly.

I like Dynacorn mainly because they stand behind their products, if the fender you get is wacked from the start they make good on it. I just got a roof for a 56 from them and it fit like a glove not troubles.

Another example is that Tri-Plus has cab corners for 55-9, problem is that their right corner is not the same as the left on fitment, you have to rework the area where the rocker meets the corner or it looks like crap. Dynacorn has a right corner that’s much more expensive but fits correctly.

I haven't put on any repop AD fenders so I can't say for sure but I won't get to worried. You'll have to make any fender fit new or old. The decision is how much will it cost to fix the old ones verses buy new.

Re: Dynacorn front fenders? (47-53)

We are building a 51 and have a lot of their sheet metal, fenders (4) hood and doors.
They are on the truck but we have not final fit them, but they do "fit" !!
I will tell you one thing, they are VERY light weight compared to the stock ones, so you can force them into any area you want as they will "move around". This truck will not see many miles because of the owner just wants a "hot rod truck".
Have you looked into fiberglass parts?
