frame rust!
Just got under my truck to check out what I need when I get around to replacing the trailing arms, and I found out the frame area where the spring and clamp attach to is rusted through on the right side.
My thinking is, first, does anybody sell frame pieces that can be welded in? If not, can I just take a piece of 1/4" steel under there and weld up the frame?

Re: frame rust!
1/4 is pretty big// you can cut back to where the steel is solid and weld a patch in but make sure you make a template with referance marks before cutting //i normally used 3/16 or 1/8

Re: frame rust!
Occasionally board members will cut patch sections from donor frames and sell them in the classifieds section also. Here is an example:

Re: frame rust!
Can you post a picture of exactly the piece you need?
