steel floor in a 66 fleetside bed
Anyone know what a guy would need to do to use a later steel floor in a 66 fleet side bed??
Seems like it wouldn't be too hard but I have never tried it. |

I've never done it either.
But you're right, it doesn't seem like it should be too difficult. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: steel floor in a 66 fleetside bed
i seem to remember a guy putting a later bed in straight from the truck to our years. I believe it was 67-72. Cut and welded it looked pretty cool.

the 1967-72 bed floor is a direct replacement, but the front bed panel will have to be modified.

Re: steel floor in a 66 fleetside bed
OK, Well here is the story.
I want a tough, long lasting bed floor. I haul block, brick and bags of concrete. I burned through a plastic bed liner in 14 months. My 66 GMC is being built to work hard. Real hard... I got a 67-72 LWB floor that is in really good shape. I'll phot doc. the steps I take to install it. Thanks a bunch guys.
