What size are the stock speakers in the dash of a 85 chevy

i'm not sure if it differed from 85 to 86, but mine were 4x6 in the dash and 4x10 behind the seat @cab corners. i replaced with kicker ds460 for the dash and ks4100 for the cab corners. sound pretty good.

watch for magnet size on the driver dash speaker. the ones i have are pretty big and i ran into issues reinstalling the gauges becasue i had to mount them from the bottom. i also stuck 4" 2-ways in mine

Just ditch them and get 6x9 rear brackets from Jeff (bigblock73),

picked these ones up,
would fit stock in my 88
but will have to be cut into the top of the 78 jimmys dash,
but for now just installed into the right and left ac vents

I put a set of 5 1/4 seperates in the dash of my 87; the two woofers in the center hole, and the tweeters in the outboard holes. Worked out pretty well.

I havent been able to get the thought of having 6x9's behind my seat since you mentioned these brackets... how do i get intouch with (bigblock73 ) to get some more info on this..... I bet a pair of 6x9's would retire my 4x10's !!!
