Ride Tech C10 Strong Arm Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Ok here's a goofy one.... When installing the Ride Tech front C10 Strong Arms (1st series of arms), does it matter what the top/bottom orientation of the arms are? If you look @ them, they can be flipped either way & will work on either side. I'm just wondering if one way is correct/better?

The BJ flange would either be slightly above or below the a-arm tube depending on how they're installed. I never really gave it much thought before & as I was prepping everything for the 64, I started wondering if anyone else thought about it.....

I never even notice this on the upper arms.
I thought the upper balljoint flange would have some built-in angle to it, to eliminate BJ bind at full drop.
But I agree,... it looks like they can be installed either way.

Would the balljoint flange contact the spindle at full dump, if these were turned upside down?
(and obviously swapped to the other side)

Mine came with stickers on them designating the correct way to install them.

I had them both ways & didn't note any interference. That's kind of what got me thinking about 'how should they be installed' vs. how they 'look' the best to me installed. My thoughts were to install them so the upper/lower are as close to parrallel to each other as possible. Looking @ the BJ flange, you could see where there could be the diameter of the 'tube' difference which may/may-not help w/BJ binding if it came close.

Thanks for the pics Ken.... I'll look & see if that's how I had them (I can't remember @ the moment).

Looking at the pics, it appears the bj is set in upside down. I will verify with pics later
