Re: Torque stick question???

I tighten mine to 110 ft lbs. I don't know if that is right or not but I have never had a problem. I am interested to see what people say as well. What is a torque stick?

There all diffrent colors. Just get the 100ft pounds. Or why not just get a torque wrench and hand tighten it......

Re: Torque stick question???

personally i would use one tbh. if your using it with a air gun your gun has to be up so spec and you must have enough air in the line pressure to make correct torque and even if your using a hand wrachet they get fetigued over time. but just my 2 cents i dont mean to be negative

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

Re: Torque stick question???

yeah get a torque wrench and torque them down by hand.
torque wrenches can last u a good while if u are careful with them.
just dont drop them, and make sure you set them back to 0ft/lb after each use, even if u gonna set it down for just a minute, still set it back to zero.

as far as the specs, i have no idea. it depends by rim manufucturer

and u will have to retorque your wheels after driving a couple miles.

Re: Torque stick question???

I usually do 90 ft lbs on a 1/2 inch torque wrench. Too much will warp alloy wheels and rotors.

Re: Torque stick question???

Torque sticks are for those that want speed and NOT accuracy. I don't like torque sticks, because there are too many error points in their use. I purchased a torque wrench and use it religiously on my wheels. If I go on a long trip, I carry it in the truck's bed. My wheels cost me some cash and I am not about to screw up a good rim on a possible error trap. I work at a plant that has equipment to inspect torque wrenches for their accuracy, so I try to get it check on an annual basis.
