"bob"
The 700R4 was first available in '82. Trucks got them in '83. The drive ratios are 1-3.06:1, 2-1.63:1, 3-1:1 and 4-0.70:1. They sure are fun to drive. I have a beefedup 700R4 and I love to punish it. The gear ratios are not the same. The first gear on the 700R4 is lower. Check this page for the ratios on other transmissions. http://www.tciauto.com/tech_info/gear_ratios.htm [This message has been edited by gchemist (edited 01-31-2002).] |

My Hollanders CD shows the New Process OD trans was used from 81-87 in Chevy/GMC trucks and suburbans and 81/82 in vans. It has a side cover. Can't help with the ratios.
