Battery Ground Location
I am routing my underhood wires to make for a cleaner appearance. I have the battery ground cable that grounds to the alternator bracket (passenger side).
It would look much cleaner out of sight. There is an empty bolt hole under the fuel pump rod bolt hole. Would there be anything wrong/risky in grounding it there? I don't think so but I've never done this. Thanks.

Re: Battery Ground Location
I am really not an expert here...but I think you should be able to ground your battery there....I'm pretty sure you can ground your battery just about anywhere right? Like the chassis?

Re: Battery Ground Location
I have my battery mounted in the bed, I have the large cable bolted to frame and I have the smaller wire grounded to the bed floor, then I have a ground strap from the block to the frame, block to body, and body to frame

Re: Battery Ground Location
just make sure your small ground straps go from the block to the frame and frame to the body... then you can ground anywhere you like. I would do block or frame.

Re: Battery Ground Location
yes you can run ground strap there . just make sure it is clean and you can run another from there to the frame. as far as body off back of block to the firewall.if you can find the flat strap braids that is what came on most. and when clean look nice. and yes use star wasers.

Re: Battery Ground Location
I've made thermostat gaskets from brown office folders many of times. But never from a candy box out of the trash. Sweet, Redneck Engineering. Gotta love it.
