Accessory mounting options

Does anyone know of a reputable company that is making mounts for the ls series engines for just alt and power steering. Can the stock accy brackets be altered for just those 2 components? What about just for an altenator?

Re: Accessory mounting options

I know the 5.3s are already set up that way. Alt and PS pump are on the same bracket on the driver side of the engine. I would guess the other truck engines are setup the same. I don't know about the car engines though.

Re: Accessory mounting options

The stock brackets are set up for that. The main belt drives the water pump, alt and power steering pump. If you want to run just the water pump and alt, you can just use a shorter belt that skips the power steering pump. However you cannot skip the power steering pump with the power steering pump pulley installed. The ac is driven off its own belt.

Now, if you asking so you would use an electric water pump......I have no clue.

Re: Accessory mounting options

Probably won't run an electric water pump. I plan to drive it on the street too much.

x2, these guys are in springfield, mo and they are good folks. Just a few hot rodders with a side project. and the parts are reasonably priced and well engineered.

Or you could just buy an LS1 alternator mount and ps pump/mount. If you use this on a 4.8/5.3/6.0 you will have to drill and tap one hole for the alternator. they mount low and tight on the drivers side, very clean looking. I scored mine for about $170 for both with brackets, pump and alternator.
