Re: Heater Question

Thanks for the info. all that looks good now. I fabbed a metal piece to replace the plastic swing arm thingie. I took the heater controls out and there are a couple vacumn ports that don't have anything running to them and I don't what should be there. Are the vacumn valves like the one in the second picture bad about going out?

Re: Heater Question

Ok, still playing with this. So, far I have replaced water pump(needed anyway), heater core, thermostat, supply hose(it split taking it off), I fabbed a piece to replace the plastic thingie motornut picture. My heater is still not getting hot.

Would not having a fan shroud affect the heater, or could it be the fan clutch?

Re: Heater Question

are the hoses getting warm to the core?
is the fan blowing air out?
some people change the thermostats,
just try covering the grill
i cover mine once the temps get close to freezing till spring
but if you see it overheat, you call pull it off
the cold air threw the rad removes more heat then your makin
the shroud could be worse concetrating the flow more
but it cools better in the summer

Re: Heater Question

Thanks for the help Motornut. I'll try covering the radiator as soon as I get the water temp gauge working.
