another 4/6 drop question fron a newbie

I just got a '70 c10 and can't stand the stance, so i want to lower it as much as I can without a c-notch and without replacing spindles. Can i get a 4/6 or 3/5 springs and accomplish this. Thanks!

Yes. Most stuff I have read says anything lower than 6" in the rear requires a notch.
I have the ECE 4/6 drop on mine (check out build thread) That is with springs AND spindles in the front.
I have yet to really drive it on the road much, but everything clears fine and others on here are running the same drop without issues.

Go ECE and you'll be fine with a 4/6, no notch unless you pull a trailer or a load of gravel.

some have gotten away with 5/7 with no notch, but I think that is pushing it. 4/6 should be fine.

Very true, unless you cheat and put in helper bags

Re: another 4/6 drop question fron a newbie

You wont be able to go 4/6 with just springs.
A 3/5 is better, but 3" front drop springs may dislodge when you're front
suspension sags. And with a 5" rear drop your shocks will be worthless
if not relocated. Your rearend will be offcenter (nothing personal) unless
you add an adjustable panhard bar.
You'll be better off going with a 2/4 if your just using springs.

Re: another 4/6 drop question fron a newbie

no isues driving with my ECE 4.5/6 truck (All new shocks springs relocators and spindles)

Handles good and I never hit the rear axel on a recent 600 mile road trip. I did scrub the tires on the inner fenders on a nasty freeway dip but it was no biggie.

Perfect drop for a driver imo.

Take a look at Cole Trickle's or my build thread to see the complete install of the 4.5/6" drop kit available from ECE; it's the only way I would go.
