Cab insulation

I am soon getting to get to the insulation part of my 51 truck and would like to see how others have done it, what material and how is it working in terms of noise dampening, etc. Pictures and specifics would be really helpfull

After reading some reviews I went with Second Skin for my blazer tub. I'm very happy with it.

If its for sound deadening second skin is supposed to be good. If it to keep the cold out then just get a fat chick to ride with you and don't forget to install the fat chick ejector kit. Just incase you see a hot chick

Well then you could go ahead and get the fat chick, get some FAT MAT http://www.fatmat.com/ or RAAM MAT http://www.raamaudio.com/ an then have her install it. When she's done keep her around, cause fat chicks try harder.

I used fat mat in my 50 cab. I have not driven it yet so I dont know about insulation but it doesn't ring like a bell anymore when you slam the doors...has a nice solid sound now.

Or look for a fat tattooed girl so you can have heat in the winter, shade in the summer and moving pictures all year long

I have always used Hushmat .The stuff is the best for both sound and heat .easy to apply and no cuts on the hands .

I used a spray type rubber pellets on my 55 BelAir on booth sides of the floor. It really helped but I also added FatMat. The car is nice and quiet. The trouble I had with the FatMat was keeping stuck to the inside of the doors.

On my truck build I really didn't want to deal with the stick on stuff so I bought 2 galons of both LizadSkin products (for two cabs). From what I've read I have high hopes for it performing to my satifaction

I sprayed Lizard Skin heat compound, then the Lizard Skin sound barrier all over on the interior of my 51, along with SecondSkin Audio (damplafier Pro) on the floor over the Lizard Skin. Could'nt be happier with the performance. My next project will include Lizard Skin also.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at you links and the pictures, did you spray the "headliner" area also and was one bucket of each enough?

Yes & yes, I had enoughto spray every interior panel area including the complete fire wall & the (under side) of the top of dash (& interior surface of the outer door panels). Took the whole weekend though. You have to let the heat barrier dry for 24 hrs. prior to spraying the sound deadener. Was alot of work, but I'm glad I did it.
