Re: boxing my 54's rear frame
Can you show a close up of the front part of the c-notch where it ties into the frame? What size is the metal tubing that you used. It looks very nice!

Looks good,
I guess you'll be layin' those running boards on the pavement when you're done! Keep up the good work. |

Re: boxing my 54's rear frame
Nice work! This is something like what I want to do to the rear of the 52. I can't decide on a four link or trailing arms with bags.

Re: boxing my 54's rear frame
hey guys thanks for nice comments. mike here are the pictures of where i joined frames. sorry there not that clear i had to take them with my phone cam. what i did was cut the original frame just behind the rear mount for the running boards. i cut the top and bottom off and left about a 5 inch piece of the side original frame to tuck inside new frame for alignment and welding to. the reason i went with 2x6 tubing over 2x4 is to match up with the original frame. i plan on boxing entire frame and want everything to be the right proportion. i also got a smokin deal on the steel, 20' stick for $60 bucks. the notch end up being almost 12" so yes i hope with 22" wheels i should be close to laying frame.
